So I had to bring my truck to the mechanic, and got quoted $1,150 when completed.
But I just got it back and I only paid $800! Makes me happy because I love that truck and it started dumping buckets of snow in Alaska again and the Aveo just wasn't going to cut it. So, in my happiness, enjoy probably one of my favorite cars doing what it loves to do!

The fact that you live in Alaska is so interesting to me for some reason.

To be honest, I only know of one other person (who's username escapes me) that's here. In fact, he works a few miles from the base I'm stationed on. If you have any questions about Alaska, just ask and I'll try and answer them as best as I can.

Ha ha most definitely. Things are done a lot differently here. For instance, If you get into an accident and the damage is mostly cosmetic, fuck fixing it. No blinker? No problem, Alaskan's don't use them anyways. I'm originally from California and I thought the drivers there were terrible. Boy was I wrong. The most interesting thing of all though is probably the fact that in the summer (good driving conditions), the drivers usually do the speed limit or 5 over. In the winter (fucking horrible driving conditions) that speed "limiter" is thrown out the window and it's a drag race on the freeway. I don't understand it.
Just to clarify, the only reason I say bad driving conditions for winter (because I love the occasional sliding and fun having) is because of the fact that you'll probably end up upside down in a ditch with your car on fire (it happens a lot more often then you think) during a blizzard because some asshat decided to cut you off when it's dark outside and he's not using his lights. True story.

I watch Alaska state troopers, a Tv show. It's amazing.

Holy shit that's a lot of Alaskan driving details. I'm sure you have a lot more snow than the rest of the US, so on-fire upside down cars are hilarious. People not using their lights at night just doesn't make any sense to me.

People did the same thing when I was in Mississippi for my Tech School. It worked however, because the streets had street lamps ever 5 feet! It was ideal, but you could still see people and cars just fine.

I assume it's nothing like that in Alaska. Just wolves and tundra. (typical New Yorker view of Alaska)

I've actually not seen any wild wolves in my 2 years I've been here. But I've seen a good few bears both Black and Grizzly as well as a bunch of moose. It's funny when you see a moose walking calmly down the highway in the center lane. Few foxes and coyotes here and there as well but I'd have to say that the coolest thing I've seen here is when I went fishing with a buddy of mine and a pod of Beluga whales was migrating north. Probably about 30 of them total. Of course they scared all the salmon away and I wasn't able to catch anything that day but it was still cool none-the-less.

Damn, sounds like a nature-lovers dream. Aren't Beluga whales very endangered? So many animals!

Not sure about that but they were pretty cool to see!
